MONICA'S MAESTRO... JJ Brennan, the St Monica's Club Person of the Year.
JJ received the Terry Monahan Memorial award. Terry was the grandmaster of Parnell Park.
He also did so much for St Monica's. He'll forever be a hero on the streets of Edenmore. The award was presented to JJ by Terry's brother, Gerry, who flies over from New York each year for the occasion.
BRIGID'S BOSS... Mark Byrne, the new St Brigid's senior football manager.
Mark's first priority will be to guide Brigid's out of Division 2. They were relegated before Christmas.
Mark managed the club's AFL Division 2 side last season. They came within a whisker of the play-offs. He played senior football for Whitehall Colmcille for years. He captained the Dublin minors and also played for the Dublin U21s.
He's a nephew of the late Mick Byrne, one of the real characters of the Dublin GAA scene.
Mick played with Laois, Faughs and New Irelands and he was one of the best-loved Croke Park stewards.
Gerry McEntee will also be playing his part as Brigid's attempt to refind their form.
BONUS MARKS... for DIT if they make the Fitzgibbon Cup weekend.
Trevor McGrath is sponsoring the squad and he has promised more generosity if the Dublin college hit the big time.
Tomorrow night, they'll have GAA president Christy Cooney in their Aungier Street HQ as they unveil their new Trevor McGrath-sponsored jersey and launch their new website. Their Fitzgibbon campaign begins with a trip to NUIG on February 4 followed by home games against UCD and CIT.
HILL HERO... Tony Kearney. Tony loved the Dubs. The Hill was his home from home. He was remembered with fondness at a special benefit night at Phil Ryan's last Saturday night. And all agree that Tony will be looking down on the Dubs from his new spot on the terrace with even more devotion this season.
