Jack joy for legend Farrelly

SAGGART SAINT... the legendary Dick Farrelly of St Mary's.

Dick has given decades of service to the club, and last Saturday he was watching his great grandson, Jack Redmond, playing for the St Mary's Under-8s.

Jack and his colleagues were great in more ways than one. Dick gave them all 10 out of 10.

And he is so proud that Jack is carrying on the family tradition at his beloved club.

TICKET TO RIDE... The Friends of Dublin Hurling are running a bus to Waterford for Dublin's first National Hurling League game on Sunday.

The bus will leave Connolly Station (10am) and the Poitin Stil (10.30am). The cost is €10. Book before noon on Friday with Michael at 087-2331983.

COACHING CHANCE... A well respected hurling coach is anxious to get back into the swing.

He has coached in many clubs and in many counties. His work always leaves a favourable echo, and often a silver lining.

He brings much enthusiasm and knowledge to the task. More details on 086-8283260.

DULLY'S DAY... it was Kieran Duff's birthday over the weekend.

Where better to celebrate it than Parnell Park on Saturday night.

Kieran sat close to a number of the current squad who were watching the Derry game from the main stand.

And it was clear to all that the current Blues are numbered among his Fan Club.

GENTLEMAN JIMMY... one of the true legends of Dublin hurling.

The great man will be remembered at the club he served so well, Crumlin, next Sunday, February 21st (4.0).

A special mass will celebrate his life, so much of which was devoted to the small ball with Dublin and Crumlin.

Jimmy Boggan was one of those characters you thought would live forever. He was the people's champion.

So was MJ Ryan, who will also be remembered in Crumlin and Kilkenny this week on the first anniversary of his passing.
