íosagáin make 'B' breakthrough!

BOOTERSTOWN's Coláiste Íosagáin last week made history when they became they became the first Dublin school to capture the Leinster Senior 'B' football title by beating defending All-Ireland champions Eureka, Kells.

It also means that they will compete in the 'A' division next year -- another first for a Dublin school.

Íosagáin were in superb form right throughout the competition and were blessed with tremendous players in every sector of the field as well as great strength in depth in their overall squad with a 30-strong panel to call upon.

Indeed, after their quarter final victory over Loreto Balbriggan, the Loreto coach commented that Íosagáin was "the perfect example of team work, a side that worked incredibly hard for each other". High praise indeed.

The pedigree of the side can be seen in the fact that they represent some of the biggest clubs in the area including Cuala, Kilmacud Crokes, Scoil Uí Chonaill, Foxrock/Cabinteely and Bray Emmetts as well as playing inter-county for Dublin and Wicklow.

As well as the aforementioned games against Eureka and Loreto, Coláiste Íosagáin recorded wins over St Colmcille's of Knocklyon, Malahide Community School, and Mountrath Secondary School on their way to the title.
