Healy: I will focus on my hurling with Laois in 2013

CAHIR HEALY has ruled out rejoining the Laois footballers this year for their All-Ireland qualifier campaign, although he has left open the possibility of big-ball repatriation at some point in the future.

Healy, whose Laois hurling team have secured promotion from Division 2A of the Allianz League and taken out 1B sides Antrim and Carlow in the Leinster SHC, decided to devote his sole inter-county intention to Séamus 'Cheddar' Plunkett's men for the rest of this season.

But despite Justin McNulty leaving the door ajar for a possible mid-season return, Healy is adamant he will stick with hurling ahead of their daunting Leinster SHC semi-final with Galway on Sunday.

"I certainly wouldn't rule it out and say I'll never play football for Laois again," he said upon being named Opel GPA Hurler of the Month for May.

"I love playing football for Laois, but I felt for this year I wanted to give hurling my full commitment."
