Goal-Rushe sees Faughs tame Gaels

TRINITY GAELS had the heating on. A memorable championship finals day at Drumnigh.

Big crowds came. It had been billed as Super Saturday.

Two of the proudest names of Dublin ash, Faughs and Celtic, have been married a good few years now, and they took the OZO Senior 5 final, overcoming the hosts.

Olivia Rushe hit a hat-trick of goals. Caoileann O'Connor got the other Faughs-Celtic goal. She has blistering pace. Georgina Kelly was the chief engineer on the Tymon Tower.

Trinity were also in the OZO Senior 7 final, but again no joy. The Gaels blew hard but Castleknock got the vital goals through Louise Mahony, Deirbhile Quinn, Jessica Comerford and Niamh Kiernan.

St Brigid's made it a double in the OZO Senior 6 final. Siobhan Cahill was a key performer. But Na Fianna kept the lights on till the finish, helped by three points from the former Dub, Carmel Gray.
