First we had 'Jayo' the racehorse, and now 'Flynner' the greyhound is following hot on his heels (hoofs).

Flynner is under the ownership of Fingallians member Páraic Murphy, who has such admiration for the 2011 and 2012 All Star Paul Flynn that he has named his dog after his fellow Fins clubman.

Flynner the dog has enjoyed similar levels of success to that of the footballer, winning two races and being placed on a number of occasions, although Murphy will hope that Flynn does not gain his second Celtic Cross next month!

Murphy hails from Mayo and never tires of telling the members that he is the only Fingallians man from Mayo and his loyalties lie very much west of the Shannon.

With Flynn and some county colleagues participating in the summer camp in Swords over the past week, it appears that his Dublin team-mates are more than a little envious as to the recognition that Murphy has bestowed on him.

As of yet, there are no signs of Paul doing a David Beggy on it and competing against his namesake, although chasing the flying Jack McCaffrey around the pitch in training is probably as close as you could get to the real thing!
