NA FIANNA will contest the Dublin MHC 'C' final after overcoming Cuala at St Mobhi Road last Sunday, 1-9 to 2-0.
Despite the one-sided appearance of the score line, this was a hard-fought game, with defence the foundation upon which victory was built.
But Cuala will look back with regret as they started slowly, allowing the home side to build momentum and take a 1-6 to 1-0 lead into half-time.
Their goal came midway through the first half when Oisín O'Connell struck, while brothers Killian and Eoghan Heaney also excelled.
In the second period, when Cuala were enjoying some territorial dominance, wing forward Cathal Buckley struck two marvellous scores to settle Fianna nerves.
Cuala's opening goal came courtesy of Cian Mac Fheargusa and the midfielder was probably the pick of the Dalkey men. He was well supported by Sean Gibney, while Fintan Porter found the net in the second period. Substitute Justin Byrne, an under-16, was another who can hold his head up high.
Cuala manager Michael Greally was gracious in defeat and paid tribute to Na Fianna: "The last day we scored 4-15 but for whatever reason we just bombed today in front of goal. It's hard to explain why a team who have been scoring so freely all year can just not get going at all.
"But I must say that Na Fianna were simply expert in defence."
The Glasnevin men will face Ballyboden St Enda's in the final.
