NA FIANNA maintained their unbeaten start to the year as they produced an exceptional performance to account for Ballyboden St Enda's by 3-18 to 0-5 in their Dublin Minor Hurling League Division 1 encounter at St Mobhi Road on Sunday.
Pádraig Buggy and Paul O'Dea delivered superb defensive displays for the winners, while Gavin King and Donal Burke combined impressively in the Na Fianna midfield. In attack, Peter Feeney bagged a brace of goals and, with Michael Gaffney and Luke Fenton to the fore, the Glasnevin lads pulled clear, with Matthew Oliver amassing 1-7.
At Páirc Naomh Uinsionn, goals from Brian Bolger and Michael O'Driscoll helped St Vincent's overcome Setanta by 2-14 to 1-10. Oisín Lanigan, Bolger and Franklin O'Sullivan were the pick of the Vinnies attack, while others to impress were midfielder Seán McCaw, O'Driscoll and Caelan O'Meara.
In Shankill, Cuala produced a dominant opening half display when getting the better of Naomh Fionnbarra by 2-12 to 2-7.
Deprived of their inter-county players and some late withdrawals, the hosts impressed early on, with centre-back Jack Lahart especially prominent as they opened up a sizeable lead.
Matthew Byrne impressed in attack for the Dalkey outfit, as did Shane Murphy, and despite Finbarrs improving after the break, Cuala held on.
The remaining fixture saw Kilmacud Crokes register a comfortable 2-23 to 2-7 victory over St Jude's at Silver Park.
Kilmacud Crokes 2-23 St Jude's 2-7; Cuala 2-12 Naomh Fionnbarra 2-7; Na Fianna 3-18 Ballyboden St Enda's 0-5; St Vincent's 2-14 Setanta 1-10.
