Faughs claim points in AHL

LATE scores from Mick Dunne and Emmet McKenna helped Faughs secure a narrow 1-13 to 0-14 victory over O'Toole's in their Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 1 encounter at Blunden Drive last night, writes Rónán Mac Lochlainn.

The hosts started brightly and opened up an early three point lead but Fergal Heavey's excellent individual goal helped restore parity for Faughs by the sixth minute.

With Conor Carton and Keith Horgan impressing for the hosts, O'Toole's regained their lead although McKenna's prowess from placed balls and a point from John Kelly reduced Faughs' arrears to 0-9 to 1-5 by the interval.

Former Dublin senior Kelly added two points upon the resumption and with the match remaining tight, midfielder Dunne pushed the visitors a point clear before Under 21 panellist McKenna landed his eighth point of the hour in injury time.
