Ryan Farnan produced an exceptional individual display in helping St Peregrine's to overcome a battling Good Counsel by 3-9 to 3-7 in their classic Dublin U15 'C' Football Championship semi-final at Blakestown Road last Sunday morning.
The midfielder netted a hat-trick for the hosts and he received valuable support throughout from goalkeeper Jack Melvin, full-back Ryan Higgins, Jamie Divilly and Prezemek Brozowski.
The visitors were always in the hunt as a result of the efforts of Adam Skelly and Dillon Kearns and they had a hat-trick hero of their own as Adam Kelly amassed 3-4 over the hour.
However, the hosts continued to impress through the likes of Conor McCarthy and Dan McEvoy and they secured a narrow two-point win following points by McCarthy and the ubiquitous Farnan.
Their reward is a final clash against Skerries Harps as the seasiders comfortably defeated Fingallians by 3-9 to 1-6 at The Townparks.
The visitors impressed initially with Mark Hughes and Jamie Cassidy to the fore while Mark Fitzgerald's goal ensured a 1-4 to 0-4 lead for the Fins with Ruairi Gielty kicking three points for Harps.
However, the hosts improved after the break with Tom Carroll's goal kick-starting their revival and despite the great saves of Kieran O'Brien in the away goal, Skerries secured the win with Mikey Woods, Adam Band, Sam Jones, Ben Keogh, Luke Harrison, Adam Bowyer and Thomas McBrien in fine form.
