Down brush Armagh aside

DOWN'S hurlers maintained their winning streak when they defeated Armagh by 15 points (3-20 to 1-11) in yesterday's Ulster SHC quarter-final at Páirc Esler, Newry

The Mourne men, fresh from their recent Christy Ring final victory over Kerry, now face Derry in Casement Park on Sunday, June 30 in their semi-final as they dream of winning their first Ulster SHC title since 1997 (lost finals in 2007, '08, '09 and 2010 to Antrim).

Goals from James Coyle, Scott Nicholson, Johnny McCusker did the damage for the winners.

Coyle's strike helped his side to a 1-4 to 0-2 lead by the 12th minute - it was an advantage they maintained as they led 2-8 to 1-7 at half-time following Nicholson's goal.

Ger Monan's men dominated the second half with McCusker's goal pushing them well out of sight.
