Doubts over Banville

ST BRIGID’S Leinster club SFC opponents, Horeswood, may have to do without their star attacker for Sunday’s quarter-final clash in Parnell Park (2.30).

The Wexford champions have major doubts over the availability of county forward, PJ Banville, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

The club lost their Leinster club JHC semi-final to Laois outfit, Ballyfinn, last Sunday and Banville picked up the injury in the process, leaving him as major doubt for Sunday’s clash with the Dublin champions.

FERMANAGH officials are awaiting word on whether Peter Canavan will accept the invitation of an interview for the vacant Fermanagh job.

Erneside officials are optimistic he will be one of three candidates to be interviewed within the next 48 hours.

Former Derry boss, Paddy Crozier and former Down hurling supremo, Frank Dawson, are the other two in the shake-up.
