St Colmcille's 0-17, Templeogue College 1-11
Six unanswered points in the closing 28 minutes earned hosts St Colmcille's victory over Templeogue College and a place in the Dublin Schools Senior A Hurling semi-final against Scoil Aodháin on Friday afternoon.
This local derby was certainly keenly contested with free-taker Conor Maher shooting seven first-half points for the visitors as they took a 0-10 to 0-6 interval lead.
Templeogue led by five points inside 30 seconds of the restart following a Robbie Power score, but amazingly they would only score a goal over the following 29 minutes, as St Colmcille's got on top.
Colmcille's dug deep for this win with Paul Doherty superb from placed balls, while a Doherty point from play levelled the tie at 0-11 apiece in the 41st minute.
Templeogue edged ahead following the only goal of the hour 30 seconds later, when Maher slotted the ball to the net after an initial Darragh Ambrose shot came off the post.
Colmcille's took control in attack, adding six unanswered points to take victory with Sean McMahon, Doherty and Ronan Magee adding scores.
At the opposite end, Ciaran Brady had his 47th-minute goal shot saved by Colmcille's keeper David Mahon.
Maher was switched to full-forward in a bid to add something to Templeogue's last line of attack, but the loss of Brendan Bentley through injury halted momentum.
Colm Hayes took command between the posts, with Graham Harrington assuming an outfield role, and while Templeougue held Colmcille's scoreless between the 56th and 61st minutes, they failed to take a score as a Keegan point ensured a three-point win.
