Diplomat of Donegal still hitting high notes on air

FOREVER the Donegal Diplomat - Brian McEniff. He chatted to Des Cahill on the radio ahead of last Sunday's Croker clash of Cork and Donegal.

Des told Brian that they have a Donegal scarf wrapped around Rory Gallagher.

Brian responded by praising the work of the Donegal assistant manager.

"No, not that Rory Gallagher. I'm talking about the statue of the great guitarist," quipped Des.

"Oh, well on the subject of music, I just saw pictures of a young Paul Brady who played for three summers in the mid-60s at the Holyrood Hotel here in Bundoran," replied Brian.

"What has that got to do with Sunday's game and Gaelic football?" smiled Des.

"Well," responded Brian, "Paul's uncle was chairman of the Fermanagh County Board for 20 years."

As Brian might say, down there for dancing.

Lyster feasts on final glory

"NOW we know the secret of reaching an All-Ireland final. Eat eight meals a day," joked Michael Lyster.

Many months ago, Donegal manager Jim McGuinness saw midfielder Rory Kavanagh as one of his key men, but felt he was too light.

In order to bulk up, Jim asked him to eat eight meals a day.

They are just one step from bringing Sam back to the Hills now!
