Dillon a sub for Mayo in Tribes clash

ALAN DILLON has failed to make the Mayo team for Sunday's Connacht SFC opener with Galway in Salthill (4.0).

Dillon missed the latter stages of the League with a groin injury and has been named on the Mayo bench alongside Andy Moran, who could see his first competitive action since rupturing his ACL during last year's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Down.

Cathal Carolan and Darren Coen will make their first starts in attack, while O'Shea brothers, Aidan and Seamus, have been listed to man the Mayo midfield.

Galway's captain Finian Hanley, meanwhile, has been ruled out with a shoulder injury and is replaced at full-back by Colin Forde, the Tribesmen's All-Ireland Under 21 captain of 2011.

Manus Breathnach makes his Championship debut in goals, while just two of this year's victorious All-Ireland Under 21 team – Fiontáin Ó Curraoin and Thomas Flynn – are included.
