Deegan steps down as Crokes senior manager

CONOR DEEGAN has stepped down as Kilmacud Crokes senior football manager, writes Rónán Mac Lochlainn.

Deegan arrived at his former club fresh from guiding neighbours Ballyboden to the semi-finals of the Dublin Senior Football Championship in 2013.

However, he was unable to replicate that form as Crokes were bundled out of the first round of the Dublin SFC by St Oliver Plunkett's/ER last May.

Their defeat to UCD in the SFC 'B' last Friday occurred with Deegan absent and his resignation was confirmed by club chairman Seán Fox.
