Deadly Doody crushes Cuala as Ballyboden turn on style

JAMES Doody struck 2-3 as Ballyboden St Enda's comfortably overcame a weakened Cuala by 4-20 to 0-12 in their Dublin AHL Division 1 encounter at Páirc Uí Mhurchú on Saturday evening.

David O'Connor and substitute Paul Doherty shared 2-5 for the winners while there were strong showings over the hour from Dean Curran, David Curtin, Conor Robinson and Peter Buckeridge at midfield.

At the 12th Lock, Joey Byrne's scrappy first-half goal helped Lucan Sarsfields account for a depleted Kilmacud Crokes by 1-17 to 0-14.

The hosts enjoyed dominant performances from full-back Robert Lambert and midfielder Mick May while scores from Aidan Roche and Kevin O'Reilly ensured a fruitless trip for Kilmacud, for whom both Ross and Bill O'Carroll impressed.

St Vincent's held off a Craobh Chiaráin rally to prevail 2-13 to 2-11 at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn.

Vinnies had opened up a 12-point lead by the end of the third quarter.

The remaining top-flight fixtures saw Crumlin and O'Toole's record wins over Na Fianna and St Jude's respectively.

In AHL2, Shane Stapleton produced an exceptional individual performance in helping St Patrick's Palmerstown prevail by 2-13 to 1-14 against Ballinteer St John's at Marley Park.

The former Dublin panellist hit 2-8 and with Paul Faughnan and Aidan Glennon sharing four points, the visitors maintained their perfect league campaign to date.
