Davis on double to seal win

A goal in either half by James O'Connor and Shane McGrath proved pivotal as Thomas Davis secured a deserved five-point victory over Ballyboden St Enda's in their Evening Herald Senior Football Championship first round tie at O'Toole Park last night.

The Tallaght side raced into an early three-point lead and O'Connor took advantage in first-half injury time to hand his side a 1-8 to 0-5 interval advantage.

Boden began eating into their deficit after the break but their momentum was stalled by the concession of a soft second goal to McGrath in the 52nd minute.
