Cuala capable of seeing off super Sars

LUCAN v CUALA (Parnell Park, Today, 5.0)

TWO sides with bright ambition. Lucan Sarsfields have been knocking on the door, and ringing the bell, for a few years now.

Reaching the semi-final has been like second nature to them.

More often than not, the Ballyboden bus has been in their way. Kevin O'Reilly has a golden hurl. Peter Kelly and Johnny McCaffrey are Dublin diamonds. Kevin Fitzgerald cracked in three goals against Plunkett's/ER in their Division 2 tussle.

Lucan knocked out Cuala in last season's first round.

The Dalkey club are three-time champions. The claret jug last visited Hyde Road in 1994.

The Cuala faithful are hoping that their injury curse has been banished.

David Treacy is back at full fitness. His fellow Dubs, Oisín Gough and Paul Schutte, can contribute much.

Should be an enjoyable hour. With 'Boden and St Vincent's in the same apartment, two early points would be precious.
