Cronin on fire in a scorefest

DUBLIN hurling

COLM CRONIN tallied 2-4 from play to help propel Dublin to narrow 2-22 to 3-18 win over Tipperary in a high-scoring SH challenge at Upperchurch-Drombane yesterday evening, writes FRANK ROCHE.

John McGrath led the hosts' scoring charge with 2-5 (2f), all in the first half, as they built up a 3-11 to 1-12 interval lead ... but Dublin's relative strength in depth compared to a depleted Tipp told in the second half.

Elsewhere, Cork's Munster SHC ambitions have shipped a major blow after Lorcán McLoughlin suffered a suspected broken collarbone on club duty with Kanturk last night. He is set to miss their June 7 semi-final against Waterford.
