A 42nd minute goal from Damien Comer saw Galway knock Armagh out of the SFC after yesterday's 1-12 to 0-12 Round 2B victory at the Athletic Grounds.
Comer scored the game's only goal when getting a fist to a Paul Conroy free that dropped short and that proved to be the difference between the sides.
Played in front of an official attendance of 9,367, there was little separating the sides throughout the first-half but a late scoring burst by the visitors, which yielded points from Comer, Gary Sice and Conroy (free), sent Galway in at the break holding a 0-9 to 0-7 advantage.
Quigley hero

The only goal of the game came just before the break. A hopeful delivery from Derry came off the bar and then hit off Wexford's Brian Malone to end up in the back of the net.
Further points from Benny Herron and Danny Heavron gave the home side a 1-8 to 0-04 half-time advantage. Despite having the breeze in the second period, Wexford failed to make any inroads into Derry's advantage, in spite of the best efforts from Lyng and Brosnan.
