Classy Larriers leave Ballinteer for dust

NO dispute here -- the Larriers were the Lords of the Swords Manor yesterday. Now they will tackle Plunkett's/ER in the fourth round of the Evening Herald Dublin SFC.

O'Toole's were in charge from the off as they attacked the scoreboard end. They were ahead by 1-5 to 0-2 at the break.

Paddy Carton got the 29th minute goal. It was created by his cousin, Peadar, who hit two charming points in the second period.

It was another noted hurler, Philip Brennan, who availed of confusion at the Ballinteer back-door to nip in for the second goal two minutes into the restart.

Nicky Devereux and Johnny McNally did their best to lift St John's. So did Paddy Corcoran, who scored three majestic points. Late on, McNally's penalty sped wide of the left-hand post. The miss summed up the Marlay mood.
