Chin set for busy weekend

WEXFORD dual star Lee Chin will kick off a hectic weekend by lining out at midfield when Liam Dunne's underdogs host Dublin hurlers this Saturday night, with Andrew Shore named at full-back and Eanna Martin (who has previously featured in goals) listed at wing-back.

Chin has also been named at corner-back for the Wexford footballers in their provincial quarter-final away to Louth the following afternoon.

Meanwhile Louth boss Aidan O'Rourke has given a vote of confidence to the 15 who pummelled Laois into first round submission for their Leinster SFC quarter-final against Wexford.

The winners advance to face either Meath or Wicklow in a provincial semi-final in Croke Park.

Offaly face Cats

OFFALY are through to face Kilkenny in the Leinster SHC semi-final on June 26 after beating Laois by 2-16 to 2-15 in last night's quarter-final in Portlaoise.

The Faithful led from the off, and held a four point advantage (1-11 to 1-7) by the 40th minute.

But a blast of scoring, including a batted goal from PJ Scully, put Laois ahead and looking primed to spring a surprise.

Stephen Maher put Laois 2-15 to 2-13 ahead with just two minutes to play but three quick points from Stephen Quirke - including two frees - sent Offaly through.

Faithful blow

THE Offaly footballers, meanwhile, have been the latest county to be hit by mid-season withdrawals after both Brian Connor and John Maloney pulled out of Emmet McDonnell's squad following their Leinster SFC loss to Kildare.

Anton Sullivan, meanwhile, will undergo a hip operation which will rule him out for the rest of the season.
