Cavan to get Mardi Gras party underway

CAVAN v ROSCOMMON

(Breffni Park, Tonight, 7.0)

THIS should be the Division 3 equivalent of Mardi Gras, such will be the feeling of celebration pulsing through all who attend Breffi Park.

In short, this Division is effectively wrapped up with two games to go on account of these two team's relative excellence.

Cavan and Roscommon have 10 points each and play here for the sake of the fixture, knowing they will meet in a Division 3 decider, regardless of the order in which they finish.

The result, so, is academic. But we'll go for Cavan on account of their status as hosts.

ODDS: Cavan 10/11, Draw 7/1, Roscommon 11/10

VERDICT: Cavan

OFFALY v LIMERICK

(Tullamore, Tomorrow, 3.0)

BARRING the unlikeliest of unlikely miracles, Offaly will go down, but a defeat for Limerick here could, given their inferior scoring difference to the other five teams on four points, prove fatal.

ODDS: Offaly 5/4, Draw 15/2, Limerick 4/5

VERDICT: Limerick

SLIGO v LONGFORD

(Markievicz Park, Tomorrow, 3.0)

A win here for either would be a nudge towards safety. Sligo to get it.

ODDS: Sligo 8/13, Draw 15/2, Longford 13/8

VERDICT: Sligo

FERMANAGH v WEXFORD

(Brewster Park, Tomorrow, 3.30)

DITTO in Brewster Park, where Fermanagh have been formidable.

ODDS: Ferm' 8/13, Draw 15/2, Wexford 13/8

VERDICT: Fermanagh

TIPP POISED FOR PROMOTION

LEITRIM v TIPPERARY

(Carrick On Shannon, Tomorrow, 2.0)

SIMPLE ... .ish. If Tipp win here, they're up with a round to spare. Lose, and it's three-into-two but with a home tie against Wicklow to come.

ODDS: Leitrim 13/8, Draw 15/2, Tipp 8/13

VERDICT: Tipperary

CLARE v CARLOW

(Ennis, Tomorrow, 2.0)

CLARE, despite recent signs of life in Carlow, should win comfortably here and thus leave promotion in their own hands.

ODDS: Clare 1/7, Draw 12/1, Carlow 5/1

VERDICT: Clare

WICKLOW v WATERFORD

(Aughrim, Tomorrow, 2.0)

AN away win in Dr Cullen Park reasserted Wicklow's local superiority over Carlow but from here on in, they've nothing tangible to play for.

ODDS: Wick 4/9, Draw 15/2, Waterford 9/4

VERDICT: Wicklow

ANTRIM v LONDON

(Creggan, Tomorrow, 1.0)

ANTRIM finish with two home games and should avoid League football's wooden spoon.

ODDS: Antrim 1/7, Draw 12/1, London 5/1

VERDICT: Antrim
