CASTLEKNOCK produced an impressive team display in comfortably accounting for St Fintan's by 1-10 to 1-5 in their Leinster Junior Football Championship final at Parnell Park.
The five-point winning margin failed to reflect the dominance of the Dublin Junior Champions, with only a late goal from substitute Niall Moore adding a degree of respectability for the Wexford men.
Rory Corcoran kicked four first-half frees for Castleknock, while Jamie Tunney and Tommy Corcoran added points from play to help build a healthy 0-7 to 0-1 lead for the Dublin 15 outfit.
Alex Griffith produced an exceptional save to deny Joey Wadding within five minutes of the restart, with Rory Corcoran finding the net at the opposite end of the field following an inspired run from defence by centre-back Thomas Shields.
Points ensued from Boland and Des Carlos as Castleknock threatened to run riot but Moore's 55th-minute strike salvaged a degree of pride for St Fintan's, who had Paddy Keane dismissed in injury-time following a second booking.
