Casey inspires St Joseph's to victory over Coláiste íosagáin

An epic battle between two of camogie's heavyweights saw St Joseph's Lucan just edge out great rivals Coláiste íosagáin, 2-9 to 3-4, at St Brigid's last week.

Full-forward Ciara Casey contributed significantly to the victory with 1-3 of the Lucan school's total.

Coláiste íosagáin were ahead by the minimum at the break, 2-2 to 1-4, but Joseph's raised their game in the second half to overcome a side that had defeated them in the U14 final for the last two years.

A crucial blow was delivered five minutes into the half when after a long free, Nicole Fitzgibbon jumped to volley to the top corner of Clodagh Ní Shiocháin's net. This set the platform for Joeys to make sure they kept hold of their title.
