Cabs, Davis and Syls kick on in Leinster

MORE good news from the Leinster Express. St Sylvester's and Thomas Davis made it a Tesco Dublin treble (with Foxrock Cabinteely also victorious).

Syls overcame the Wicklow side, Tinahely, in the Leinster Club IFC at Broomfield on Sunday afternoon, 1-16 to 3-6. It was an absolute cracker.

The word from the terraces said it was the best game seen on the coast all year. End-to-end, nip and tuck, highs and lows.

Twice, the Malahide maestros looked about to be counted out during the hour, but back they bounced off the canvas.

The contest was heading for extra-time when the one and only Sinead Aherne pounced to strike the priceless goal.

It means the Dubs are back in another Leinster final. Last year they won the junior provincial crown, and now they are going for intermediate gold.

On the same bill in Newbridge next Sunday will be Thomas Davis, who will be in the Leinster JFC final. They had a comprehensive victory over Offaly's St Vincent's on the Kiltipper Road on Sunday. The Tallaght team won the Dublin crown in such impressive style, and their march in Leinster has also included triumphs over Wexford and Westmeath opposition.
