A tenuous and undeserved vote goes to Kildare forward Paddy Brophy, who netted late on to deprive Stephen Cluxton a deserved clean sheet.

With the exception of a couple of kick-outs that went astray, Parnell's clubman Cluxton was at close to his imperious best and highlighted why he, more than any other player, has been the central figure in Dublin football's success since the start of this decade.

His save from Daniel Flynn was at a vital juncture of the second half (42nd minute), reminding everyone of his continued excellence that has been manifest in his 88 senior championship appearances that now include 13 Leinster winning medals and four All-Irelands.

And still counting!
