ST BRIGID'S 3-10
ST JUDE'S 0-17
A CRACKER. One of the best matches of the championship. The crowd were on their feet in Parnell Park last night.
A big result for Brigid's who had held the champions to a draw in their previous encounter. Two second-half goals proved telling.
The Templeogue team began briskly and they were 0-8 to 1-3 ahead at the turn.
Joseph McManus was accurate from the frees, while Sam Lehane, Tom Devlin and John Ryan contributed some neat points.
It took a while for Brigid's to find their feet. Paddy McAvinue knocked over a couple of frees and the game was level in the 26th minute when a scramble concluded with Ruairi Dunbar getting the credit for the Russell Park goal.
Brigid's might well have had another goal only for the sharp reactions of the Jude's goalie, Martin Hartnett.
But strikes before the interval from the dashing Devlin and McManus gave Jude's their half-time advantage.
Two minutes into the restart, Colin Lynch turned sharply to produce the second goal for Brigid's, and their third was a beauty from Daire Plunkett.
