Brigid's into play-offs after seeing off Kickhams

ST Brigid's confirmed top spot in the Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 table following their impressive 2-10 to 0-7 victory over Ballymun Kickhams at Russell Park last night.

The win secures home advantage in the Top 4 play-offs next Sunday against Kilmacud Crokes with the defensive excellence of Collie Freeman and Alan Creagh ensuring the hosts held a 0-6 to 0-3 interval lead.

Kevin Bonner's goal in the 45th minute left Ballymun with a mountain to climb and with Shane Supple producing a brace of outstanding saves in the home goal to thwart any hopes of a comeback, St Brigid's ensured their win through Philly Ryan's 50th minute goal.

At Sancta Maria, both Ballyboden St Enda's and St Sylvester's also qualified for the division semi-finals as they played out a 0-12 apiece draw.

The tie seemed to be heading Boden's way with Declan O'Mahony and Collie Dunne impressing as they enjoyed a three point lead entering the final stages.

However, late scores from Nigel Dunne, who hit five points over the hour, Gary Sweeney and Aidan Relihan rescued a share of the spoils for Syls, who will enjoy home advantage when they meet St Enda's again in four days' time.

AFL1: St Brigid's 2-10 Ballymun Kickhams 0-7; Ballyboden St Enda's 0-12 St Sylvester's 0-12.
