IT'S showtime on the Firhouse Road. The Ballyboden St Enda's Theatre Group stage the Sean O'Casey classic, 'The Plough and the Stars' in the club hall from November 13th-16th (8.0pm).
It's their third production of the season. "No mean feat when you consider most of our members are also involved with Boden teams or committees," reveals Carol Fitzmaurice.
"They still find the time to do everything from acting, directing, writing, plus stage design and construction.
"The group has gone from strength to strength in the last couple of years," adds Carol.
"We have expanded the number of productions we do each year."
Already, they have staged the comedy 'Laughter in the Lounge' and a three-act play by the renowned American playwright, Thornton Wilder.
But this production is sure to get the best reviews of all. "It's a must see with the anniversary of the 1916 rising fast approaching," comments Carol.
"It is filled with strong characters and strong themes, and it will challenge the audience to think about the struggles not only the soldiers faced during the fight for independence but also the ordinary people."
When the curtain closes on one production, club members and the local community are shouting for more.
It all points to a sell-out run next week. Ticket enquiries to Ger (086-8516387)/Carol (086-4070015).
