NIALL MOYNA has insisted that DCU were not distracted by media coverage of the allegation that one of their players was bitten during last Sunday's O'Byrne Cup match against Dublin, writes Frank Roche.
"It wasn't an issue all week," the DCU manager declared in the wake of yesterday's 15-point semi-final defeat to Meath.
"It hasn't been mentioned in the squad since last Sunday, and it's being dealt with by the management of the GAA club ... so I've no comment to make at this stage."
In response to a follow-up question, Moyna redirected any further queries to DCU's club chairman. Asked if the Leinster Council had been in touch over its investigation, he replied:
"I've no idea. I've stayed busy with my research and stayed away from it all week."
