Titles Stack-ing up

Austin Stacks recovered from the blow of an early red card to beat The Nire and be crowned Munster club football champions at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The Tralee side were 3-5 to 2-4 winners against the Waterford men despite trailing early in the first half by 1-4 to no score, and they also had to recover from the dismissal of Shane Carroll.

But the Kerry outfit fought back after that body blow and found the net on three occasions to leave Stacks captain Barry Shanahan (pictured) the job of lifting the cup.

Up North, Christopher Bradley's stoppage-time winner gave Slaughtneil their first Ulster Club SFC title in a thriller at the Athletic Grounds.

The Derry men will meet Stacks in the All-Ireland semi-finals despite having trailed Omagh by 1-5 to 1-2 at half-time.

Geraldine McLaughlin scored 3-8 as Termon (Donegal) beat Mourneabbey (Cork) 3-12 to 1-13 in the All-Ireland senior ladies football final.
