Fallen can outshine Light show

Fallen For You can reverse form with Lyric Of Light in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket.

The star duo again go head to head following a rousing tussle at Doncaster in the May Hill Stakes, in which Lyric Of Light was the narrow winner.

There is, however, enough evidence to suggest Fallen For You has enough scope to gain her revenge in this coveted Group One affair.

Lyric Of Light is clearly a supremely talented animal, but the suspicion remains that this race could have been a slight afterthought as she was supplemented after number-one choice Discourse suffered a setback.

The two leading protagonists displayed naivety in their Doncaster duel, which is exciting from a neutral point of view as both horses should be even fitter and stronger at Newmarket.

And while far from a two-horse race, John Gosden's inmate is taken to just have that little more ammo on the day.A number of potential stars line up for the Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes, with narrow preference for Albaspina.

This is a big step up from a Carlisle maiden, but the Mark Prescott-trained juvenile falls into the could-be-anything category.

The Nayef Joel Stakes, by contrast, has lured a really disappointing field, from which Poet’s Voice is a shaky call.Saeed bin Suroor's four-|year-old ran deplorably when favourite for the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last month, finishing last.

That was, though, his first start since Dubai in March and while the jury is understandably still out, he should have improved plenty for the outing.

Poet's Voice, lest we forget, won the QEII last year and is quite some way clear of these rivals in a substandard renewal.

It appears anyone's race in the Aqlaam Godolphin Stakes, but at least Myplacelater would not be winning out of turn for David Elsworth.

The Mawatheeq Rosemary Stakes can go the way of Dark Promise who remains in excellent heart this term and deserves another afternoon in the spotlight.

Gosden can also secure yet another winner at Haydock courtesy of recent Goodwood runner-up Robemaker, who runs in the Vale UK Handicap.

Over at Wolverhampton, Hitman Hatton can give small-time trainer Lucinda Featherstone a significant win in the Ringside Conference Suite Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Zorro De La Vega, meanwhile, can add to a determined Market Rasen triumph with victory in the Frederick William Thorpe Handicap Chase at Worcester.
