Elm Park a worthy favourite in Trophy

Aidan O'Brien (pictured) probably didn't bring the team we would have expected to Doncaster for tomorrow's Racing Post Trophy and the fact that Jacobean, who was beaten on his only run in a Curragh maiden, is favourite, probably tells us about the strength and depth of the race.

That said, I do think that Elm Park is a worthy favourite of the race and it would take massive progress from Jacobean if he is to overturn him.

Meanwhile, our own flat season draws to a close over the weekend at Leopardstown and a few horses that I thought were worth keeping an eye on over the weekend were, Jim Bolger's Answered, Dermot Weld's Hidden Universe and Aidan O'Brien's Royal Navy Ship.

I thought Royal Navy Ship would look very hard to beat in the Killavullan Stakes, while Answered returns after a break in the Trigo Stakes and can return to winning ways, while the drop back to 1m7f around Leopardstown will suit Hidden Universe.
