Dublin's got talent insists Scór supremo

IT'S time to get out the dancing shoes and to start fine-tuning the voice.

The Scór na nóg annual talent competition is coming to a stage near you.

The U17 competition is a showcase for those that can dance, sing, play, recite and whatever else you can deliver on stage.

The Dublin semi-finals are on November 11 and November 13. The Dublin final will be held on November 25.

The county winners will advance to represent Dublin in the Leinster and All-Ireland series.

"We have a massive wealth of talent within the GAA, and Scór is another way to represent your club and county," explains Liam O Culbaird.

Harps men call time

THE Three Amigos have stepped out of the hurling dugout at Skerries Harps.

Mick Geoghegan, Liam Staunton and Ger O'Mahoney spent eight years in the job. And they achieved much, guiding Harps from Division 9 to Division 5.

They beat St Maur's to ensure their survival in their first year in Division 5, and they leave behind a ship in fine fettle.

Croker finals day!

THE excitement is bubbling over. The Cumann na mBunscol football finals take place in Croke Park this Thursday and on Monday, November 3.

The finals bring such colour and drama, and they create memories for life. All the senior Dublin hurlers and footballers can still vividly recall playing at HQ in a Primary School final.

Playing in the big house is central to the magic of the day.

The bus journey down the Clonliffe Road, the drive through the gates, the rush of the supporters up the steps at the back of the Cusack Stand.

The faces painted and then the huge cheers as the teams come out from the tunnel.

Out at Scoil Mhuire in Howth, they are busy preparing the banners and the bunting.

"This is our first time to reach Croke Park in over 30 years," reveals James Burke, the Mayo MUNteoir. "It promises to be a great occasion for the team and indeed the whole school."

On the hill of Howth, they are counting down the days.
