IT has been billed as one of the games of the season. Dublin v Galway in the All-Ireland under-16 Championship semi-final.
Dublin won in extra-time. They'll now meet Cork in this Saturday's final in Jk Brackens, Templemore, Tipperary (1.0). It's a repeat of last year's finale.
Cork won that in Birr. They were helped by a hat-trick of goals from Kate Leneghan. Dublin's Lauren Magee was inspirational.
Once more, the Blues have been the undisputed Leinster leaders. They excelled against Kildare, Wicklow, Laois, Meath, Westmeath and Meath again in the final.
In that Leinster final, Hannah O'Neill was top of the class. Just like Emily Flanagan in the All-Ireland semi-final. Ken Nyhan and his management team have a talented and hard-working squad who represent clubs from all over the county.
When they took the job, the mentors were very impressed with the depth of talent within the county. Selecting the final squad from the trials process was not a easy task.
Complete commitment was needed to overcome Galway. At full-time, it was Dublin 5-7, Galway 4-10.
The Dubs eventually prevailed by 6-12 to 4-13. It was a sight to behold.
Both sides had produced a carnival. The young Jackies and the Rebels are well capable of staging a repeat.
