Drimnagh and Mark's stun senior big guns

THIS year's Leinster Senior Cup (U20) has kicked-off in style - with no less than two of the competition favourites eliminated already.

Winners in 2011, St Benildus College, were eliminated by Drimnagh Castle after their exciting clash ended 5-4 to the visitors.

Despite taking a three goal lead into half-time, the 2011 champions were hit with five goals by Jack Doyle (2), Matt Dowling, Nathan McMahon and Dyland Hershee before adding their own fourth late on. Drimnagh must now wait to see if St Mark's CS, Tallaght can follow up their 6-3 success over 2012 finalists Clonkeen College in the preliminary round with a win over Coláiste éanna Rathfarnham.

Jordan Andre, Jason Daly, Ken Killeen, Jordan Dunne and Shadrack Divova (2) were on target. David Brookes scored two alongside goals from Thomas Turley and Josh Kearney as John Friel's Athlone CC (2013 winners) beat Moate 4-2 in the preliminary round.

Athlone now face holders Patrician SS, Newbridge.
