ROBERTO Mancini is now so secure in his position as Manchester City boss that he can afford to forgive Carlos Tevez and offer the Argentinean a way back from the brink.
After an astonishing run of goals, results and form, all achieved with Tevez in cold storage, Mancini will send City into Champions League battle tonight full of confidence and ready to repeat the win they secured against Villareal at Eastlands.
But he took time out of his preparations to throw Tevez a lifeline.
"Everything depends on Carlos. If he apologises to the squad and to me then everything will be as before. I will forgive," he said, throwing the ball back to Tevez.
Mancini believes that City's group could well be decided when they travel to Italy for the return game against Napoli.
"This game here will be a hard game, too. It is a difficult stadium to play in. I still think the match that will decide which team goes into the second stage will be the one in Naples. But first we must take care of this game."
