Dai Brando's form gives my husband some cheer

Last weekend was a big one at Fairyhouse with a lot of graded racing and in the Grade Three Juvenile Hurdle my husband Ross O'Sulivan's horse Dai Bando ran an absolute cracker behind Kalkir.

Kalkir was obviously very impressive and although it is a long time away, is a worthy favourite for the Triumph Hurdle but while he won by eight-lengths, Dai Bando was seven-lengths clear of the third horse so everyone was delighted with him.

He clearly would have been a very impressive winner of the race had Willie's horse not been in it and it's great for any young trainer starting out like Ross to have a horse like him in the yard.

I'm sure, while there is a lot of pressure attached, it is easy for Willie Mullins to get out of the bed in the morning with all the horses he has but every small trainer could do with a horse like Dai Bando to give you a reason to get up in the morning.

He's Our Man has done a fantastic job of flying the flag for Ross in the summer and hopefully now this fella can do the same during the winter and into the spring time.

Also at Fairyhouse last weekend, it was fantastic to see Sandra Hughes get her first two winners since she has taken over the yard from her father Dessie.

She got a great reception there on Saturday and again on Sunday when she won the Hatton's Grace which is a Grade One and there wasn't a person around that begruded that success.
