Cuddy compliments Laois endeavour

THE Laois manager, David Cuddy, insisted that Sunday's victory owed so much to industry.

"It was hard-work that carried us through," summed up David as Laois will now prepare for the trip to Croke Park on September 14th.

"I thought the girls really put it in. Their work-rate was super.

"When Dublin scored those two quick goals early in the second half, a lot of teams might have hung their heads.

"But not this group. They showed great character. They have put in a phenomenal effort in training all year and it really came to the fore in that second half."

Dave felt Laois should have been further in front at the break. "For all of our possession, we should have been more than three points up.

"Dublin's goal coming up to half-time was a bit of a sucker punch, but we responded well to that by getting two points before the break.

"Dublin didn't score after their two goals. We managed to push on and I thought that overall we were the better team."
