Boyne first years are in seventh heaven

BOYNE Community School marched into the semi-finals of the Leinster First Year Boys Cup with an emphatic 7-2 victory over Malahide CS last week.

The Meath school are sure to be a little distracted when they return from midterm as their final-four opponent is decided.

The delayed last-16 clash of Dunshaughlin and Skerries on Tuesday will see the winner take on Tullamore just two days later in the last eight.

The team that emerges from that quick-fire double-header will face Boyne, while Dublin schools St Benildus College and St Mac Dara's clash in the other semi.

Next Thursday the Leinster Minor Boys Cup semi-finals will kick-off, with recent back-to-back First Year Cup winners Coláiste Phádraig CBS taking on Coláiste na hInse, Bettystown at McKelvey Celtic FC. The other final-four clash in that Under-15 competition will see Killinarden take on one from three that includes two of the First Year semi-finalists.

Boyne, Benildus and Trim are still in the mix to face the Tallaght side for a place in this year's final.

Loreto SS, Kilkenny can ensure all eyes will be on the girls' section next week when they compete in the Senior All-Ireland final.

Connacht champions Dominican College from Salthill in Galway will be their oppossition at Tullamore Town FC (1.0) on Wednesday.

In the First Year Girls B Cup, St Kilian's DSD will take on Wilson's Hospital, Multyfarnham in their outstanding semi-finals next week.

Wilson's Hospital also have an outstanding U15 Cup quarter-final against Pobalscoil Rosmini next week.
