CONGRATULATIONS to our minor footballers, who have reached the Championship Final after a hard-fought win over Thomas Ashe. Not for the first time this season, the lads found themselves 5 points behind with 20 minutes remaining. They dug deep however and finished strongly with some excellent scores. The final score was 0-12 to 1-6. Our opponents in the Final will be Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh. That game is scheduled for the New Year. The squad is superbly managed by Adrian Kavanagh, Mick Hoban, Ray O'Sullivan, Frank O'Daly and Michael Shorthall. Good luck to our u14 ladies football players who are involved in Dublin Trials at the moment. The adult re-grading season is open from the 1st to the 21st of January. This applies to Championship only. If you wish to be re-graded for the 2015 season, please complete the appropriate form and return it to the Club Secretary, Tim Maher. CHRISTMAS Draw: Winners of Christmas Draw 2014 held in the club on Saturday 13th December. First Prize €1,000 - Lynda O' Dwyer; Second Prize €500 - Anne Marie Quinn; Third Prize €300 - Des Drury; Fourth Prize €200 - Paddy Ryan. Other Prize Winners: Fiona Clarke, John Fearon, Paula Feehan, Ashi Morris, Radek Byszczycki, Paul Carey and Ronan Fahey. Minor Camogie: Castleknock 3-9 Naomh Olaf 1-3. On a frosty and bitterly cold Saturday morning, Naomh Olaf and Castleknock locked horns in the Division 3 Minor Shield Final. With two pitches deemed unplayable, the teams finally settled down to battle on the all-weather St Brigid's pitch. Great credit must be given to both teams for giving such an enjoyable and competitive final, given the disruption regarding the pitches. Naomh Olaf dominated the opening period but failed to score, because of some excellent defending by Castleknock and a number of wides from Naomh Olaf. Castleknock led by 1-4 to no score at half-time. Naomh Olaf came flying out of the blocks in the second half, and in the first minute Roisin McLaughlin buried the ball in the back of the net. Castleknock replied with a goal and a point. Clara O'Sullivan replied with an excellent point, but Castleknock came back with two more points. Olaf's replied with two more points from Clara O'Sullivan and Stephanie Deasey. Castleknock finished strongly with a further goal and two points.
