BALLYMUN KICKHAMS
THIS week's Hero of the Week is a very talented member of our club, and a maestro on the U16s. Take a bow motm, Daniel Foye, who helped the lads to a 6-point win over fierce rivals and last year's Champions, St Sylvester's. Maith thú Daniel, Laoch na Seachtaine. Daniel's performance was augmented by Conal Cullen and Sergei Runin, with a 2-goal salvo. Next game is v Isle's on 25th July. Our minors have training on Tuesday at 7.30pm and a league game v Clontarf at 7.30pm on Wednesday night in Pairc Ciceam. Congratulations to all the coaches and children and parents, who took part in our fabulous Summer Camp last week, and for sure, we're all looking forward to the Kellogg's Camp being run this week. Contact Shane on 086-1600042 for any info required. Very best of luck to all our members on the Dublin team in next week's Leinster Final. We're all very proud of the team and especially all our members. Very little to add this week apart from we have had to postpone our much-advertised Family Fun Day, due to circumstances beyond our control. We do hope to re-schedule very soon for some time in August, but will give plenty of notice about this. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. For info on the club's news snippets, you can log onto www.ballymunkickhams.com, where you can also link into our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

CIVIL SERVICE
WE have a busy week with training sessions in Islandbridge on Monday and Wednesday and both teams in league action at the weekend. In AHL6, our game against Realt Dearg at Drimnagh Castle has been switched to Monday evening 13th July at 7.30pm. Our second team heads to Donabate on Sunday morning 12th July for our AHL8 clash with St Patrick's. Throw-in re-scheduled for 10.15am. All members are asked to confirm their availability for each game on Teamer and to be at the correct venue in plenty of time for pre-match warm-up. We haven't played at either of these venues for some time, so everyone should be sure of directions. Final preparations are being made for our major club fundraiser scheduled for Friday 17th July, when we host our Night at the Dogs in Harold's Cross Stadium. We are again fundraising in partnership with our own club member, Liam Myles, who works with development aid charity VITA - see www.vita.ie. The funds raised will support VITA's development work in southern Ethiopia, to give rural families a more sustainable livelihood. By supporting our Night at the Dogs, you and your friends will be helping our club, but you will also be supporting an excellent cause and have an excellent night out in the process. Tickets are available through club members. This is an important event for our club and all support will be gratefully received. Best of luck to Conor and Niamh for their important event on Saturday.

CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY
FOUR club stalwarts - Shay Connolly, Eugene Davey, Frank White and Michael O'Kane - were honoured in a celebration, which took place in the clubhouse on Friday night. Special tribute was paid to each of them for all the dedicated work they have undertaken over the years for the club. The large numbers in attendance heard stories of club and inter-county games of days gone by; and even a song and guitar performance from the maestro that is Shay Connolly. Best wishes and hearty congratulations to each of them. Over the weekend, our intermediate footballers had an excellent win over Na Fianna in the league with a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-8. Our U15 footballers did not enjoy the same success however; they were most unfortunate to suffer a two-point defeat to St Finian's of Swords in their final league fixture before taking a well-earned rest for the summer weeks. With the break in competitive action, the focus moves to this year's Summer Camps, which get underway shortly. Packed with activities that include football and hurling skills, obstacle courses and fun games, this year's Camps will offer plenty for ages 4-12. The schedule is: Week 1; 20-24 July. Week 2; 27-31 July [Cúl Camp] and Week 3; 10-14 August. Running from 10am-2.30pm each day (2pm last day). The cost is €60 per child with €10 discount for siblings. Visit www.clannagaelfontenoy.ie to register online or contact Claireryan.gpo@gmail.com. The drawn numbers, 1, 11, 26 and 27, did not produce a winner for the Lotto Jackpot of €10,000 and this fine sum of money goes forward to next week's draw.

FRIENDS OF DUBLIN HURLING
WELL done to our seniors, who defeated Laois on Saturday and now move on to play Limerick. We will post travel details on our website www.fodh.ie when the venue is decided. Even though the win was comprehensive, Dublin failed to put Laois away for a long time in spite of the fact that they were assisted by a strong wind. After the game, Dublin fans were asking why more balls weren't hit into the full-forward line, where Mark Schutte and Conal Keaney were in form. Mark got two goals in the first ten minutes from long-balls that were deliberately hit to him. He made the third goal with a wonderful pass to Conal Keaney. Dublin resorted to short passing in the second-half, when the ball should have been doing the work. Dublin will need to up their game if they want to progress to the quarter-finals. Hard luck on our minors, who played really well and were caught in the last two minutes. While defeat is never easy to take, this team has a good future and a few players will be in contention for places on the senior team before long. Our camogie team put up a great performance and fought back from an eight-point deficit to equalise with five minutes to go. Unfortunately, they could not get the winning point and Tipp broke down the field to get a point. Dublin are away to Clare and Derry now and need two wins to get into the quarter-finals. Congrats to Brian Gregg and Donal Murphy, who won two tickets each to the Dublin v Limerick game, plus free travel to the game on the FODH bus.

Two of Naomh Olaf's young stars were in action for Dublin this weekend. Eoin Foley played at number 5 for the Dublin minor team in the Leinster Final in Croke Park on Sunday. O'TOOLE'S
OUR girls travelled well on Wednesday to Cuala for another superb win in the Cup. Poise, talent, skill and a tremendous will to win has these girls in the splendid position that they're in. The committee wish to thank all clubs that participated in our new-look, two-day 18th Annual Ger Canavan Tournament, which was a great accomplishment. Commencing with a dozen U9 teams, including our little Larriers, who played with all the heart and spirit they could muster. Thanks to Sinead, we also fielded some of ours in an All-Star team alongside Garristown. Pride was etched across the faces of all that arrived on our doorstep to watch and cheer over the two days. Next were just 3 winners from 22, which was a tough call for scorekeepers in the individual skills section. Then déjà vu as our girls and those from St Brigid's lifted the group 1 & 2 winners' trophies in the U11 section again this year. Another change this year was from U15 to U13 boys. This worked very well, culminating in a scintillating final between Craobh and Ballymun, with the latter triumphing by a narrow margin. Well done to Austin and his helpers for organising this hugely successful event. Our U10s travelling to Antrim this Saturday 11th are meeting at the club at 7:45am, so if you're going please be here on time. Playing in our lounge this Saturday night its 'Off The Rails' and Sunday 6pm-8pm after the Leinster Final, its ballads with John Couglan. There was no winner of the Club Lotto. Numbers were 4-17-18-21. Jackpot is €3,700. It is with great sadness that the management board and members send sympathies to John & Mary Maher and his family on the recent death of his brother Eugene.

Seniors lost to Templeogue Synge Street and the intermediates lost to Rahney also.
