Smurfit Kappa boost

PACKAGING giant Smurfit Kappa has reported growth in revenue of 10pc over the summer.

Operating profits also rose by 9pc in the three months to the end of September.

Smurfit Kappa group chief executive Gary McGann said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) hit €303m in the quarter.

"The Americas has been a strong contributor to the EBITDA performance in the third quarter," Mr McGann said.

Smurfit Kappa is a producer of paper-based packaging, with around 41,000 employees in approximately 350 production sites across 32 countries.
