Sky Blues' daunting trip to Tipp

The Clare legend (pictured) has devoted the past six campaigns to Dublin's cause and transformed their fortunes in the process, leading this long-slumbering giant to a first league title in 72 years - three seasons ago - and a famous Leinster breakthrough last summer.

But now there is a real and present risk of the revolution stalling should the Dubs misfire for the second game running, after their Leinster final no-show, in tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final at Semple Stadium (throw-in 4.0).

And in that scenario, there are inevitable fears Daly may conclude he has brought this group as far as can.

The popular Dublin boss is desperate for his players to prove that their 12-point defeat to Kilkenny was an aberration ... but the bookies are firmly expecting a continuation of Tipp's recent renaissance, quoting Eamon O'Shea's men at odds of just 4/11.

"I know we have to play them in their own field - and I'd have my own opinions on why that has to be the case - but look, we've to turn up anyway," Daly told The Herald.

"We just have to get ourselves right and put in a massive, massive shift and hopefully the hurling will fall into gear and we'll play well on the day. And that might be good enough, because we're a fair team when we do that."

Niall Corcoran replaces Paul Schutte in the only change to the Dublin XV from the Leinster final defeat to Kilkenny. The Cuala defender is ruled out with a back injury.
