Seven years for cocaine supply
A 21-year-old Dublin man who was caught selling cocaine has been sentenced to seven years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Kenneth Dunphy, of Rowlagh Crescent, Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine for sale or supply at St Mark's Grove, Clondalkin on March 10, 2007. Judge Patrick McCartan suspended the final three years of the sentence.
Dunphy, who has 34 previous convictions, told gardai the bag did not belong to him but admitted the €600 he had in cash was his.
Museum drops Christ video
The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, is removing an exhibit video after complaints from a Catholic group that it was sacrilegious.
Catholic League President Bill Donohue said the video by artist David Wojnarowicz was "hate speech".
He said the video with ants crawling on a crucified Christ figure was designed to insult Christians.
