Red tape costs €9m
IRISH businesses spent around €8.7m in 2010 to comply with information requests for the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The CSO's Response Burden Barometer said the workload placed on Irish businesses by surveys had increased by 10.1pc since 2005 and by 2.7pc since 2009. "The increase reflects the expansion of the June Agricultural Survey," said a spokesman.
