Record year for port
trade
Last year saw a record amount of trade done through Dublin Port.
Trade was 7pc higher than in 2013, the figures released by the Dublin Port Company reveal.
Some 31m gross tonnes - a measure which includes the weight of containers - of cargo went through the port, with 7,108 ships arriving there during the year.
"The port is now back to the record levels of trade recorded in 2007 with every prospect of continued strong growth in the years ahead," Dublin Port Company chief executive Eamonn O'Reilly said.
