ray and daithi get lippy with charity selfies
OUR male celebrities have jumped onto the selfie band-wagon.
The fundraising trend 'nomakeupselfie' that swept the nation over the weekend has now been embraced by Irish stars including Ray D'Arcy and Daithi O Se.
But in an unusual twist on the make-up free photo, the Today FM presenter opted to pose for a pic with a full face of make-up as he got in touch with his inner drag queen.
He was given the make-over by Mairead Farrell after revealing she had her make-up bag with her in work and was only too happy to oblige.
Showing off baby-pink lip gloss, pale foundation and eyeshadow alongside a blonde wig, he was virtually unrecognisable in the photo.
He then nominated RTE presenter Daithi O Se to follow suit as he urged listeners to help raise more funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
The Kerryman went for a more subtle look, with rouge cheeks and lips and a tiny pigtail on top of his head.
MONEY
"Ready for Coppers," he said before adding how his mother-in-law had just walked into the room when he was taking the picture.
The pair called on Today FM producer Will Hanafin to join in the campaign and last night he followed suit.
Thousands of women across Ireland have already helped raise a huge amount of money for the Irish Cancer Society with nearly €500,000 collected in three days alone. Celebrities including Sile Seoige, Majella O'Donnell, Holly Carpenter and Pippa O'Connor all got out the make-up wipes and posted the photos for a good cause.
Many of those who got involved have been affected by cancer or battled the disease themselves.
And it has emerged that the Irish are coming out on top in relation to the amount of cash raised per capita.
Already over 120,000 Irish people have donated money to support cancer awareness with 100pc of all donations going to the chosen charity.
